Three years ago, I started as an RBT in Applied Behavior Analysis. During that time, my son was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). When I tried to find him extra support to help with his few, there were not many places in Robeson County that could provide additional support services.
When I saw the lack of services for those with ASD and other developmental disabilities within the county, it became my mission to provide a place where they could come and get extra support. This inspired me to get my master’s in special education with an emphasis on ABA. I got my certification to be a Qualified Autism Service Practitioner-Supervisor (QASP-S) and started supervising those implementing ABA therapy and creating treatment plans.
