FAQ's
Getting started is simple:- Contact us to share your child’s needs and location in Lumberton/Robeson County.- We complete an insurance benefits check and discuss coverage and costs.- A BCBA schedules an initial assessment (home, clinic, or school).- You’ll receive an individualized treatment plan with goals for communication, daily living, focus, social skills, and behavior.- RBT sessions begin with BCBA oversight and regular caregiver coaching.
Yes—North Carolina Medicaid and many commercial plans cover Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) when medically necessary. We:- Verify eligibility and required documents (diagnosis, referral/prescription).- Submit a prior authorization (PA) with assessment results and recommended hours.- Keep you updated on approvals and re-authorizations so services continue without gaps.
Sessions are 1:1 with an RBT and include:- Naturalistic teaching (learning in play/routines), discrete trials, and behavioral shaping.- Practice across home/school/community for generalization.- Data collection every session and BCBA check-ins for adjustments.Hours are individualized based on assessment and medical necessity—ranging from focused (e.g., 10–15 hrs/wk) to comprehensive programs (e.g., 20–30+ hrs/wk).
Absolutely. We regularly:- Align ABA goals with IEP objectives.- Provide teacher consults, classroom observations (as permitted), and practical supports (visual schedules, reinforcement systems, transition plans).- Share progress summaries/graphs so educators and families stay on the same page.
Progress is tracked with objective data and shared in family meetings. You’ll see:- Graphed performance on goals (communication, independence, social skills, focus, and coping).- Clear plans for fading prompts, thinning reinforcement, and updating goals as skills improve.- Written strategies for home/school so gains are maintained and generalized.
A BCBA completes a thorough assessment (caregiver interview, records review, direct observation, and skill probes). From that, we identify strengths and barriers, then write SMART, measurable goals that reflect your priorities and IEP needs. You’ll review and approve the plan, and we include generalization targets for home, school, and community.
We track data every session and a BCBA reviews trends weekly. Formal re-evaluations occur at least every 6 months—or sooner if the data show a change is needed. When goals are updated, we submit the amendment to your insurance for authorization and share the revised plan with you and the school team.
Therapists record objective data on each target and we chart it on easy-to-read graphs. A BCBA looks for mastery criteria (e.g., 80% independence for 3 consecutive sessions across 2 settings), checks generalization, and meets with your family monthly to review gains and next steps. You’ll receive summaries you can share with your IEP team or pediatrician.
Hours are based on medical necessity from the assessment and your family’s schedule. As a guide, focused programs are often 10–15 hours/week, while comprehensive programs may be 20–30+ hours/week. Final hours begin after insurance authorization and are adjusted over time as skills grow.
We accept North Carolina Medicaid managed care plans—including Trillium, Alliance, Carolina Complete, WellCare, and Healthy Blue. If you have a different plan, we’ll perform a benefits check, explore out-of-network options, or discuss private pay. Our team handles the paperwork so you know coverage and any out-of-pocket costs up front.
At the moment, we do have a waitlist. We are still accepting new clients and making appointments.
